Remember it uses a relatively large amount of resources and is something we do not actually need to eat for sustenance. Sure it is an enjoyable and useful product but it also leads to diseases – it is a growth hormone after all. Isn’t there a market for larger farm owners who are doing well in other areas to diversify their portfolio by purchasing dairy farms and then leasing them back to the people who care most about producing high quality and affordable milk? It would be good to see an analysis of poor farmers’ economic plight in the context of the increased use of food banks.
