Many of those that write articles – and post comments – about the economy and politics of the UK – and the developed world generally – on this website either don’t fully understand the deeply interconnected nature of global capitalism or, in practice at the end of the day, put their own self and national interest first and devil take the hindmost. Paul Mason is a notorious example. Of course many of these people have a whole host of ways for appeasing their consciences while continuing to preserve their privilege.

As regards the struggle for global justice I am sceptical of all strategies which only attempt to moderate and modify globalisation and capitalism. Deglobalisation is the only solution given the seriousness, danger and urgency of our historical situation. I would like to draw readers attention to a very interesting recent essay about globalised localisation which makes the case:
